Selective Theory Course

Designed for all year 7/8 students and high-achieving year 6 students
Writing/English (Reading)/Mathematics/ General Ability (Verbal & Quantitative)

Our Selective Theory Course (STC) small group classes for Years 7 and 8 focus on developing students’ understanding of the Selective Test theory and creating a supportive environment where they can motivate, support and challenge each other.

Class details

Small group classes have a maximum of 8 students - meaning students get personalised guidance from our teachers in a supportive learning community and parents receive individualised feedback after class.

2025 Term 1: 
Wednesday 5pm - 8pm or Saturday 1pm - 4pm at Sanctuary Lakes Shopping Centre (Point Cook)

Understand key strategies and techniques to solving these questions in the tight time restrictions of the exam.
Verbal
25 minutes
Learn the most strategic way to approach the subtopics that fall under this subject and how to tackle them with a high degree of accuracy and within the time constraints of the exam.
Writing
30 minutes
Delve into the ideal way to structure narrative and persuasive pieces of writing and workshop ideas and responses in class with the tutor.

Mock Test Course

Designed for all year 8 students and high-achieving year 7 students
Selective Trial Test Course

Our Mock Test Course (MTC) is designed to help students prepare for the selective test through practice in simulated exam conditions to consolidate their knowledge and to train speed & accuracy.

Class details

This course runs on a fortnightly cycle, with students sitting Reading/Quantitative GA/Narrative writing and Mathematics/Verbal GA/Persuasive writing papers on alternating weeks. Answers and exam techniques for success will be covered in the review session.

Papers are based on the most recent Selective Tests as well as information released by the Department of Education. Students can take the paper home along with a report card on which answers they have answered correctly & incorrectly. 

This course will commence in Term 1 2025 and continue until the Selective Entry Test (June)
